Grey For A Grey Day

I'm going to sound very British saying this, but why is the weather so rubbish? I love layering as much as the next girl but I'm all layered out, doesn't the sun know I've got newly toned arms to show off? As a nod to the lack of sun I thought I'd take inspiration and wear grey to match the sky. I'm still obsessed with my wedge trainers and I fear they may walk themselves off my feet before I can bare to lay them to rest. On a plus side, lack of warmth means I can grasp a few last wears of my faux leather trousers before they get packed away until autumn.

Rocky Horror Picture Show

I am a huge Rocky Horror Fan and last night I was invited last minute to go to the 40th Anniversary of the show. I'm an ex Music Theatre student so there wasn't a chance I'd say no. I'm a bit anti fancy dress but you cannot turn up to this show and not get involved. The show was fantastic and my dragged along other half even enjoyed it. What a great way to spend a Saturday evening and an excellent opportunity for the first outing of my vintage Dior clutch.

Crop Top Action Before the Big 30

I hit the dreaded milestone of 30 in a month so I'm getting some last minute twenties appropriate outfits in before they become too questionable. The crop top is doing the rounds at the moment, mostly with a high waisted bottom half, but I thought I'd go for broke and base my outfit circa early 2000's when hipster jeans and exposed midriffs where all the rage. Go big or go home I guess, but then I was a total chicken and kept my silk cape jacket on all evening, well with age comes the wisdom to know that cold back is not fun! Seems I'm more ready for 30 than I thought.

Casual Friday

Everyone needs a casual day every now and again, and with the current wedge trainer trend this is made all the more possible. Love them or hate them they're not going anywhere soon. I've lived in mine the past two months and I'm praying for their longevity so it doesn't get embarrassing!

Féline Fine In The Sun

I love that logo tees are in but the big label ones can only be described as obscene on the price front. There's fakes practically everywhere but I'm not keen on counterfeit goods and I found this Féline version from BATOKO. I'm sure you can guess it's a cheeky take on a Céline tee but not an obvious copy, there are some other fun tees on the site just avoid the obvious copies.

Tahlias Closet

A four day weekend was never going to be a bad thing for the working crowd, and saying as spring has finally arrived this weekend has certainly been a good one. Bank holiday Sunday is always a bit of a party day back in my home town of Newcastle but as I wasn't able to make it home for Easter it was nice to go out with some new people in Cambridgeshire.

I'm a bit of a Magpie and last night I got to finally meet the lovely lady who created online jewellery store and boutique Tahlias Closet. If you live in the Cambridgeshire area a visit to the boutique is a must and if you don't check out the website. Tahlias Closet also has a great Twitter account which features all of the latest items a quick DM and payment can be arranged. Tahlias Closet owner Natasha has a great sense of style and is a great advertisement for the brand, she displays some amazing styling tips for various jewellery products on her Instagram account definitely worth a look. I'm a huge fan of her range and I will follow up with a blog post featuring some pick ups soon.

A Perfect Day For A Wedding

Yesterday I had the privilege of attending one of the most perfect weddings. The wedding itself was a small intimate affair just for family and close friends but the evening reception was perfection with the romance carried through to the evening. It was truely beautiful to hear about the day from various guests who painted a picture of perfection in my mind. The venue of the reception was honestly incredible, held and an unused Masonic Temple I felt like I had been swept up in time. And what do I say about the bride.... beauty personified there is no danger she will look back in 30 years and look at the images with aything less than a small tear in here eye. What an absolutely wonderful family I wish you both (family included) a future filled with Love, Laughs and good fortune. Thank you for letting me share this memory with you both.
